BrandWatch Reports 32 Percent Growth; Adds Executive Neil Ivey

Company prepares for new product launch; adds 12 new customers

CINCINNATI, June 27, 2011 – BrandWatch Technologies, an innovative developer of brand protection and anti-counterfeiting solutions, announced the appointment of Neil Ivey to the executive team as Vice President of Sales. The company and lead investors also reported a 32 percent increase in year-over-year revenue, driven by increased adoption from existing clients, and twelve new customer contracts.

Ivey’s experience includes more than ten years in the security industry in the areas of brand protection and authentication; anti-counterfeiting; security; and covert and forensic technologies, as well as having developed partnerships within the federal government and multiple industry segments.
Ivey cited BrandWatch’s wide range of product development initiatives, innovation and mission as keys to his decision to join the company. “In the next few months, BrandWatch will be rolling out unique technology solutions that will challenge the current approach to the protection of products and documents,” said Ivey. “Upon joining BrandWatch, I will work with my colleagues to establish our company as the leader of solutions to the anti-counterfeit and brand protection markets.”

Ivey most recently served as a sales executive for North and South America for Payne Security. Prior to that, he served for five years as the Federal Business Development Director at Authentix, Inc. and earlier served as the Director of Government Affairs with the Security Industry Association. Ivey is active in the Document Security Alliance, Operation Genesius (U.S. Customs & Immigration Enforcement) and Coalition Against Counterfeiting & Piracy. He earned his MBA from the University of Maryland and BA from Kenyon College in Ohio.

BrandWatch made news recently when it partnered with France-based, Prooftag, to create a sophisticated set of protection and marketing tools for the wine and spirits industry. The solution helps domestic wineries and distilleries overcome the problems of counterfeit product and authentication in overseas markets, such as China. Additionally, BrandWatch recently secured a contract with aftermarket auto parts manufacturer SMART-O to provide product authentication technology for its supply chain, thereby easing international distribution. 

The company provides brand protection solutions for consumer product packaging, pharmaceutical, access control, personal electronics and inks/coatings. BrandWatch has also seen a rise in demand for custom multi-layered applications and proprietary detectors as its customers are seeking more sophisticated solutions to security and authentication. The BrandWatch Reveal detector provides clients with a low-cost means to do offline authentication and the company plans to release its newest detector technology later this year.
