Effective Partner Evaluation
Posted February 04, 2009Choosing which firms to partner with in today’s economy carries with it a certain amount of risk. Beyond the financial stability of a firm, it’s important that the potential partner share the same core values. While this may seem like a secondary consideration, it can have a direct result on the success of the proposed partnership.
Since BrandWatch tends to deliver its solutions in tandem with other brand security experts, we have given the question of prospective partner evaluation careful consideration. We look for companies that share these core values.
The people are the company. If we lost everything tomorrow in a massive natural disaster, but we emerged with our team intact, we could build it all back. There is nothing we value more than our people.
Consistency is quality. We’ve spent a tremendous about of time and effort getting the taggant manufacture and detection business right. Every time we deliver taggant to our customer, it’s exactly the same formulation as before. We expect others to serve us consistently well.
We’re always getting better. Constant innovation is the only way to win the brand security game. Our opponents are always working to circumvent our solutions, so we must keep moving forward, getting better, stronger and more effective.
Reputation is like bedrock. It’s the solid footing we’ve built our company on and it comes out of many small situations over time that were all handled with integrity. We look for companies with strong references who can speak to their integrity.
We sell a product, but we’re measured by our service. We know that even though our solutions work, they are affordable and applicable to a wide array of uses, if our service is not excellent, our customers will go somewhere else. That’s what we do when we’re offered inferior service.
Partnerships formed on the basis of shared values will always be more successful than those formed on the basis of any other criteria. This is why we list our values on our website and why we live up to them every day.
